Food for Thought

When people all hang out, spend time together, or are visiting each other, there is always one thought that people have at least once.

What are we going to eat?

The answer can always change depending on who you are with at the time and what people are in the mood for, but that decision is always tossed around to everyone.

Is food always necessary when spending time with people? No. Food does bring people closer together still whether it is a first time or even just a random dinner. Eating food with someone else can be just as powerful as talking all night.

When you eat with someone else, you are expressing yourself with what you like and sharing that with those around you. It is this vulnerable time where everything feels light, comfortable, and you are allowing someone to enter this space with you.

Food may be one of the best ways to learn things about yourself as well as friends. It may connect you to a healthier lifestyle, different cultures, or even to new discoveries.

I think many people limit the foods that they eat to things they are comfortable with. It is okay to want to eat things in your comfort zone but in doing this, you make limits on your experiences. This could separate you from someone who does not eat the same foods as you because of health issues or their own lifestyle choices.

Opening your horizon is the best choice to make for yourself as it can help deepen bonds that you missed before. Once these horizons are open, the dinner table will be set for you to understand the other person more.

When you are choosing your options for food, are you choosing the safe options? You know you like the food, so you decide on that one. Even if you know there is something you might like, you can not be sure about going that route.

I am here to tell you to take that leap.

Discover the world of food to share that adventure with others. Do not let the debate be about safe options, let the friends argue about what they want to try next.

Bonds are as strong as the tables you create together.
